Primrose lives in the mountain region of Golden, Colorado, and as a baby Primrose loved to run and romp in her pasture with her mama. One night dogs got into the pasture and began to chase Primrose nipping and biting at her legs. She was very frightened as her mother struggled to keep the dogs away from the little donkey. Despite her mother’s efforts, the dogs kept pursuing and began tearing repeatedly at the bleeding wounds of Primrose’s right hind leg. Morning found an exhausted little donkey with the leg nearly chewed off at the hock. Her owner rushed her to the Colorado State University Veterinary Medicine Hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado. Unfortunately the damage to the leg was so great it could not be saved. However, the clinic arranged for a prosthesis to be fit to the little donkey in order to save her from being put to sleep. She has to have it refitted as she grows, but she has adjusted well and uses that prosthesis as though it were her natural leg.

As I work in clay on a sculptural piece, with wonderful music on the CD player, my studio begins to turn into a sanctuary. The joy of creating overtakes every other emotion, time seems to stop, and the Lord's directive presence becomes most evident. I can only imagine the joy Jesus has in His creation that lives and breathes, sings and dances, paints and sculpts, writes music and poetry, raises children, loves the wife, loves the husband, pats the dog, hugs the cat, brings home the bacon, and stays the course. Creativity is not limited to the arts, it comes in street clothes. God is the direct author of all that has been achieved on this planet, in space, in the arts, in science and medicine, in technology; and continues to be creatively involved in every aspect of His creation. Thanks be to God for allowing us to "borrow" His talent; and to have so much fun doing so!
